TIME: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (ET)



Please join Fairmount Park Conservancy, Farm Philly, Braskem, The Philadelphia Eagles, and community gardeners for a volunteer workday on Wednesday, September 25th, from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. We will be picking up trash in and around the garden. Installing rain barrel systems and the garden main gate. We will provide all the tools, supplies, and materials for the workday, including gloves.

 

  • Event Timeline:
    • 9:30 am-9:45 am, arrive and check-in
    • 9:45 am-10:00 am, Welcome Remarks from FPC
    • 10-10:10 am- safety orientation and split into groups
    • 10:10-11:40 am- working period per scope of work
    • 11:40-12 pm, closing remarks, remaining pictures
    • 12-12:30- food and drink, socialize

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

  • Please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. We strongly recommend wearing long pants that cover your ankles and long sleeves to protect your arms. 

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes like boots or sneakers are required (no ballet flats, flip-flops, or sandals).

  • Volunteers are also required to wear gloves while working. Gloves will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

  • Please bring a reusable water bottle. We will provide jugs for refilling.

 

PARKING/GETTING THERE:

  • Look for the green Fairmount Park Conservancy tent on-site

  • There are limited parking spaces at the meeting location (off Market Street, across from Perzan Audio Radio), and there is also street parking available nearby. As always, NEVER leave valuables in your car! 

 

POSTPONEMENT/CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of heavy rain or other severe conditions, the event will be postponed, and attendees will be notified.
